Bible Note: NASB Acts 15:29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell." AMPLIFIED Acts 15:29 That you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols and from [tasting] blood and from [eating the meat of animals] that have been strangled and from sexual impurity. If you keep yourselves from these things, you will do well. Farewell [be strong]! There are things I admire about people who are Jehovah's Witnesses. However, their doctrine is not one of them. As far as Acts 15:28-29, I take it literally. Abstain from blood means abstain from blood -- period. Nothing figurative or mysterious there. kalos |
