NASB | Deuteronomy 24:4 then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Deuteronomy 24:4 then her former husband who [first] sent her away may not take her again as his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an outrage before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance. |

Bible Note: What does Jesus have to say about rejecting (transgressing, nullifying, laying aside) the commandments of God? Mt 15:3 But he (Jesus) answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? Mt 15:6 . . . Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Mr 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men . . . Mr 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Mr 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Hank: I appreciate and applaud you in that you steadfastly defend the Word of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Christian faith -- and for doing so under much attack, insult, accusation, condemnation and abuse by others on this forum. You are true to the Word of God in all of your postings, a rare attribute here. I agree with you completely regarding the post to which this is a reply. Many times I have heard people say that in Matthew 5:17, the word "fulfill" means to abolish. If that be true, then Jesus is saying: "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law...I did not come to abolish, but to abolish." That really makes sense, doesn't it? Grace and peace to you, kalos |
