NASB | Deuteronomy 24:4 then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Deuteronomy 24:4 then her former husband who [first] sent her away may not take her again as his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an outrage before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance. |
Bible Question: There seems to be several instances in Deut that no longer apply to our lives. Is this verse any different? |
Bible Answer: partsman: Marriage restrictions were not revoked or changed by Jesus or any Apostle. However as we know specfic instructions about what is eatable was given by instructions to Peter. Carefull examination will prove that these marriage rules were for a real purpose. There is wisdom in this verse in Deut. 24:4. Even still there have been Christians who did this out of ignorance, stupidity, or defiance. What do we say to those fokes? I believe we go to 1John 1:9, what else can we tell those who are so deep in sin they can't see light? Any thoughts? justme |
