AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 5:33 However, each man among you [without exception] is to love his wife as his very own self [with behavior worthy of respect and esteem, always seeking the best for her with an attitude of lovingkindness], and the wife [must see to it] that she respects and delights in her husband [that she notices him and prefers him and treats him with loving concern, treasuring him, honoring him, and holding him dear]. Bible Note: I re-read your post and am very sorry if I misread it, but must admit I am no wiser on what you are asking me now than before. If you are not indeed questioning women who do not endure abuse, pain, torment, and even death, in an abusive relationship, I really don't know what you are saying? I don't see how any of the "models" as you have called them, have anything to do with any women “taking a beating” from an abusive man, and how that could possible be honorable unto the Lord? The submissiveness of a wife in marriage simply means she trust her husband to hear from the Lord on her behalf. If he is obviously not hearing from the Lord, any word God would have otherwise spoken thru the husband on his wives behalf, will be spoken directly to the wife. Please consider what Charis and Joe have said to you. Out of curiosity, how many women have you counseled in life threatening relationships? Was your advise for them to “hang in there baby”, because that's what God requires of them because of the "model" of Job? How did that turn out? Did they understand what you were talking about and how that applied to their situation? Would you give the same advice to your daughter or sister? I have advised women in threatening situations to seek the protection necessary for themselves and their children. How was I, according to the WORD, giving the wrong advice? What would you have advised instead? retxar |
