Subject: Lionstrong, who is the world? |
Bible Note: Greetings Lionstrong! Well, it was worth a try! :-) You brought up Rom. 5:9! How about Rom. 5:10 - "For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!" Compare this verse with 2 Cor. 5:19, where Paul says that God was reconciling the world to Himself through Christ. So, doesn't this mean God was extending freedom from His wrath to everyone. The difference being Rom. 5:11, "Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation." Believers have received reconcilation, while unbelivers still need to "be reconciled (2 Cor. 5:20). Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
