AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace [God's remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. Bible Note: Greetings John, Whether or not your interpretation of Romans 9 is correct is a much different topic altogether! I believe that this should be something that you should find alone, if you are in fact in error at all. I do not believe that I have hinted at the possibility that you were in error regarding Romans 9, and I do not believe that we have had any prior correspondence regarding Romans 9. However, Reformer Joe and I have talked at length about free will and election (look up Romans 5:6 in the "Questions/Notes on Verse" box), and very much has been written on both perspectives concerning both points of view. You only need to look up certain verses in the "Questions/Notes on Verse" box. Those verses are: Romans 9:10,15,16,18, and 19, which, I believe, are at the very "heart" of what you would like for me to address. Before I present to the Forum my verse by verse understanding and interpretation of Romans 9, I ask that you would at least consult what has already been written on the subject here, so that you may feel free to respond to what has already been written, and might possibly have all your questions answered at the same time. Blessings to you, Makarios |
