NASB | Ephesians 2:2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 2:2 in which you once walked. You were following the ways of this world [influenced by this present age], in accordance with the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient [the unbelieving, who fight against the purposes of God]. |
Subject: Believing in the Bible and E.T.'s |
Bible Note: Hello again, Parable! "If you find any 'good' evidence for aliens, let me know." This piece of unimpeachable evidence may have been manifest on this forum before you came aboard and you may be unaware of it, but once upon a time on this very forum there was a user who in her user profile confessed that her husband was a Martian. And you have been hanging out (as a fine contributor, I might add) at the forum long enough to recognize, I'm sure, that all things posted here are always both sensible and sound :-) So much for the evidence. QED :-) ..... Now for the serious stuff: I've a question for you since you're a member of the scientific community (although I have no idea what your branch of science happens to be). Given: The possibility, however remote, that life exists somewhere in the universe outside the earth. Given: The possibility, perhaps not so remote, that human cloning will become a reality. Suppositions: [1] That life, perhaps a highly advanced form of life, is found to exist somewhere outside the earth; and [2] that human cloning becomes legal and commonplace. ..... Now the Question: In your estimation, how would these two events impact human beings, especially the Christian community, and which would you deem to have the greater impact? ..... In trying to mull these questions over in my mind this evening, the thought occurred to me that, as I recall, in the immediate wake of the publication of Darwin's "Origin of Species" many prophets of doom forecast the death of religious faith, especially the Christian faith. But it's been almost a century and a half since "Origin of Species" was published in 1859, and Christianity is very much alive still. Christianity has weathered all storms that have been tossed its way for two thousand years. But it has not had to deal with aliens. Or clones. What about it, what do you think? Will God protect His people against all possible assaults? Even aliens? Even clones? --Hank |
