NASB | Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Galatians 3:28 There is [now no distinction in regard to salvation] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you [who believe] are all one in Christ Jesus [no one can claim a spiritual superiority]. [Rom 3:22; 1 Cor 12:13] |
Subject: sheila, why pray for a lesser gift? |
Bible Note: Scripture ... 1 Cor 14:27-28 If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must interpret; but if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God. While verse 39 says we should not forbid speaking in tongues, these verses are part of the restrictions ... the proper way, as you say. I guess we will disagree about which gifts are greater. I do know all the gifts are needed ... no gift is given to all and I also think no one has all the gifts. |
