AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. |
Bible Question:
Greetings Aixen7z4 - You wrote, "our lives are merged into his"; I think that our dear member Ray would be gratified if we chose to capitalize "His!" How does this differ from being "in Adam?" 1 Cor 15:22 (see also 15:45) For me, this expands my understanding of the salvation that I have "in Him", who loved me and gave Himself up for me! Blessings, mommapbs |
Bible Answer: I would be pleased to capitalize Him in order to gratify Ray. Come to think of it, I also failed to capitalize Christ. But that was a typo. I trust it does not detract from the substance. It is an interesting thought that we were in Adam and we are now in Christ. We inherited something from each of them, I suppose. But in Adam all died. In Christ, all were made alive. Quite a difference. Some would say it is a contrast and not a comparison. But the thought of it, that they do have something in common, may help us to gain a deeper understanding of your topic. |
