AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Corinthians 13:5 ¶ Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit? |
Bible Question:
What kind of things do and do not prove the genuineness of saving faith? This question is not about judging others. It is about testing OURSELVES to see if WE are in the faith. It is about examining OURSELVES, not others. |
Bible Answer: Still more from 1 John -- Growing and active love for other Christians (1 Jn 2:9-11) The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now. The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. |
