Bible Question: I work with a few people that I know that do not believe in Christ. One believes totally in evolution, the other believing in a mix of a higher power and evolution. The one that believes in the mix says he wants to believe, but he wants proof and/or a sign telling him to believe. Does anyone have any suggestions or scripture on how to best handle this situation? |
Bible Answer: Hi, gracerocks... Welcome to the forum! One of the problems we face as believers when dealing with the lost, is being distracted about issues that aren't THE issue. If we persuade lost evolutionists to be creationists, all we'll have are lost creationists! In addition, remember that your colleagues' redemption does not hinge on your ability to persuade! Salvation is arguably one of God's greatest and most miraculous works. Also, one of the means of grace that God has provided is prayer. Consequently, depend on God to effect the evangelistic work He has put on your heart, and express that dependence in daily prayer for your fellows. So much more could be said on this topic. However, I'd add one more relatively simple admonition: God has brought about your own redemption to be Christ's disciple. Disciples are continually growing in obedience to their Lord, and in love for their Lord. I hope these few thoughts help. God bless you in your service to our Savior. In Him, Doc |
