AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:14 ¶ But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. |

Bible Note: Hi Pastor Glenn, The comment that I would make for Matthew 13:15 is that I see the quote from Isaiah as talking about the Spirit. The Spirit should heal them; and the disciples were given eyes that saw and ears that heard. Matthew 13:17, "For truly I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see [it]; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear [it]." John 9:40, "Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, "We are not blind too, are we?" (Jesus) said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see', your sin remains." The Pharisee thought that they saw everything clearly. They did not see the need for the (Light) of the world. They did not know that they were blind and that (Jesus) could heal them. Parentheses for comparison. Isaiah 42:16, "And (I) will lead the blind by a way they do not know, In paths they do not know I will guide them." May the Lord lead us. May the Lord lead us in this passage of John 4. This has been for me one of the most difficult passages to spiritually discern. I sense that I am close to my "final draft" as I would see it. The problem is that it would conflict with your statement that "in spirit and truth" refers to "our" spirit nature. But good night for now. From the heart, Ray |
