Subject: Death God's friend or enemy? |
Bible Note: Dear Joe, Gen 2:17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die." The above verse to me is a warning of the consequence of their disobedience. Not a punishment as you have exhibited in your example. God's punishment for their disobedience is in Gen 3:14-19. What God required of Adam and Eve is obedience. A toddler might not know what heat is and how a pot of boiling water might hurt him, but he is warned and demanded of to be obedient to his mother not to touch the pot. Please provide scriptural support as to your statement that Adam did not get the free gift of everlasting life. Shalom Azure |
