Bible Question:
I agree that the text is talking about future time ,but in v12 he speaks about comming face to face, with who? a person? or a place in time? it does not appear what we shall be, but when he appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is 1 jhn.3:2 |
Bible Answer: Dear Who, I'm not sure why it happens, but from time to time we get people coming to the forum, who post a question to which they render up all kinds of answers themselves. I suppose it is people who are posing a leading question in order to provide themselves with a platform from which to pontificate their own pet positions. Or maybe they simply like to argue. Either way, it ends in providing very little that is edifying to the readers -- as gracious communication of believers ought to do. Adopting a profile name, and placing in the description assertions of our spirituality, means less than nothing when we contravene it by our posts. And believe me when I say, those kinds of folks come and go from the SBF with unsettling regularity. Searcher and I have given you the orthodox Christian interpretation of these verses. It is an interpretation based on a sound hermeneutic, and tested for twenty centuries of scholarly Biblical study. If you have a differing interpretation, we'd be happy to hear it. However, a good exegete will explain the logic by which they arrived at that interpretation. Simply restating the your conclusion is neither instructive or persuasive. In Him, Doc |
