Bible Note: Scripture ... Luke 24:49; John 20:22; Acts 1:4-5 ... ezekiel, Please support what you said Scriptually. You said, "It is truly Joy Unspeakable and Full of Glory and it is a Free gift from God. Why would we not want to recieve it when the Holy Gives you power to witness change your life style guide you in your life." Please support this Scriptually. What about the other gifts He gives? Doesn't this happen when we become Christians, not when we use our gifts? You said, "Asking God for His gift." Please support this Scriptually when it refers to anything thing else but the gift of eternal life. Do you ask for a certain gift from someone who is very powerful? Then you are rude. You said, "We should always expect speaking in tongues when someone receives the Holy Spirit." Please support this Scriptually. Did the 3,000, those later, the eunuch (Acts 2:41,47; 4:31; 8:36) speak in tongues? There are other examples in Acts. You said, "Spirit baptism produces tongues as the initial sign." Please support this Scriptually. Did Paul speak in tongues "as the initial sign" (Acts 9:5-19)? You said, "What is the status of a person who repents and is bap-tized, thereby receiving remission of sins, but does not receive the Holy Spirit? He cannot be condemned for sins that are remitted, yet he cannot enter the kingdom of God without the birth of the Spirit and the holiness imparted by the Holy Spirit." Please support this Scriptually. 1) Why must one repent and be baptized for receiving remission of sins? 2) How can one who has receivied the remission of sins not enter enter the kingdom of God? You said, "Jesus has commanded him to be baptized with the Spirit, and for Jesus to be complete Lord of his life he must obey (Luke 24:49; John 20:22; Acts 1:4-5)." -Luke 24:49 is the comand to wait for the promise of the Father. -John 20:22 is where the 11 received the Holy Spirit. Or were they waiting for Him? -Acts 1:4-5 is a another account of Luke 24:49, which happened after John 20:22. They were promised to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. They were never commanded to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Please support what you said with other Scriptures. Now for other questions ... -Did you know that Satan has copied this gift? -When you "speak in tongues" is it in public? If so, does someone interpert? -When you "speak in tongues" is it in private? Please support this Scriptually, that God gave this gift to be used in private. Searcher |
