AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed--united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life]. Bible Question: Who was baptized by the Holy Spirit other than the apostles? |
Bible Answer: The household of Cornelius. Acts 11:16 "And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' Acts 11:17 "Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God's way?" The Baptism of the Holy Spirit came with signs on the day of Pentecost and at the household of Cornelius. First the Apostles -- 'are not all these Galileans?' -- and then the Gentiles. Tongue speaking accompanied the outpouring. Tongues were in the language of men, understandable speech, always for the purpose of edification. Good day. |
