Subject: Baptism in the Holy Spirit? |
Bible Note: Greetings Disciplerami! I doubt it! :-) Water baptism is not mentioned in 1 Cor. 12:12, or Titus 3:5, or John 3:5. They all refer to a work of the Holy Spirit. Now, I know that we differ on the role of baptism in salvation, and I don't really want to rehash all of that. But, I am curious about the Scriptural support for the following statement of yours: "At the water, the baptized person's faith meets the grace of God." The only reference I could find in the New Testament which gives a condition for grace is Rom. 5:2, "through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God." But, there is no reference to water baptism here! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
