Bible Question: I still don't know where it talks about sex before marriage or sex b4 marriage results in not going to heaven |
Bible Answer: Hi, Having sex before marriage will not "disqualify" me from going to heaven. The question is what "qualifies" me to get to heaven in the first place. It does not matter if I am having sex before marriage, or sitting on a park bench breathing oxygen; neither will result in my not going to heaven. Sex before marriage in the bible is called fornication. Fornication is a sexual immorality. If I practice fornication, I am being sexually immoral, hence I am sinning. If I am not a child of God, I will die in my sin. In other words I will not go to heaven. Romans 3:23 "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." I am not worthy of God's glory because of my sin nature, the one I was born with because of Adam. Looking at Proverbs 7 it talks about a young man who lacked judgement. A woman (who was not his wife, hence it was before he was married) seduced him "led him astray" vs. 21. Verse 26 and 27 describes this young man as: slain, to the grave, led to the chambers of death. Vs 25 says "it will cost him his life." I think that this scripture shows this kind of behaviour results in death rather than life. Life meaning living erternally with the Father in Heaven. |
