Bible Question: where in the Bible does it explain sex before marriage -- not going to heaven |
Bible Answer: Hello, I wanted to start by saying that all believing Christians are eternally secure. The key to this is that you have first recognized your sinful nature, repented of that sin, turned away from it and truly accepted the free gift of grace that God offers us through the blood of his only Son, Jesus Christ. We then become His children. There are two families on the physical earth, God's family and the devil's family, you are either one or the other. You become a child of God through faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as your personal saviour. Is there anything that can cause us to lose our salvation? What sin could I possibly commit that would separate me from God? Could it be having sex without being married, could it be stealing office supplies from work? Could it be having an abortion? The answer is there is no circumstance if we are truly a child of God. Jesus forgives us of all of our past sins at the moment we put our trust in Him, he also covers all of our future sins. Being a child of God does not mean that we are supernaturally unable to sin, so we will sin until we die because we are not perfect creations. It is a lifelong process of sanctification. Growing in the Lord, recognizing sin when it is upon us, repenting, turning away, etc, etc, etc. God wants us to be like his son Jesus, like his Son, means perfect because Jesus was without sin. Even though it is really an impossible task, we should strive toward that goal. |
