Subject: Aren't we in the age of GRACE? |
Bible Note: Hello ngkh, "For e.g. the following was my experience. Before I came to the Lord, at times when I was presented the bill after a meal, I noticed that the restaurant had left some items out. Did I call the waiter to inform him of the error. I am ashamed to admit that I quickly paid the bill and thought how lucky I was. However, same scenarios happened again now after being a christian. With no hesitation, I have always informed the waiter of the error and paid what ever is due. Was I afraid of the law? I don't think so. The law was never in my mind. I believe the holy spirit in me told me to do what is right." Excellent ngkh, you did not have to obey specific laws. The general law of love (from God) made you do the right thing. "By living in the age of grace, I believe it means that the holy spirit is in us now when we believe and by Jesus blood, even when I have sinned in the past, I've got a clean slate the moment I said my sinners prayer and by growing in Him, the holy spirit will dwell in me that I no longer have to think about the law for as Paul had said the law shall have no dominion over me." That is right. "Question is, do I truly believe that the holy sprit is in me? I believe it does. But then again, why am I at times questioned God when I believe that the spirit is in me? If I questioned God which means my faith level is only at this height, does it mean that the spirit I have is only in my head? I don't know. Perhaps Pastor Glen will be kind to help me out on this." Actually, I just read an excellent post by CDBJ that addresses this directly. "Grow yourselves to grow others". I wondered on how on earth do I grow. After 18 months, I still have yet to read the bible from cover to cover and there are so much things I want to comprehend. " Sounds like a very good church. After only 18 months, you are growing just fine. Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |
