Bible Question: I love my sister so much. She has made a decision that goes against my beliefs as a Christian. I want to love and support her but I do not know how. |
Bible Answer: 1 John 3:18 states: "Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." It is very hard to show our love when people hurt us, but that is why we must go to what the scripture says about love...love is patient, love is kind...if you remember the way you came to Christ, it probably had something to do with someone loving you. Prayer is so increadibly important, but it will be in God's timing. You may be able to plant a seed, but God's the one that makes it grow. You may want to let your sister know you disagree with what she is doing, or not, but whatever you decide, live out 1 Cor. 13 to the fullest, that will be more of a witness than anything. Remember, we can always fight against sin, but we must target the sin of unbelief, "fight the good fight." God's blessing to you! |
