Subject: Faith and Works: Paul vs. James |
Bible Note: Paul and James actually complement each other. Paul says righteousness is imputed to us by faith, Jams says because I am justified by faith I do works of righteousness. We do not do works to be justified before God; we are already justified to God by faith, if we believe. Since we live and move and have our being in Christ, we do works of righteousness. If we try to attain right standing with God by works, Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. I do not believe this means people who seek to be justified by works are lost and going to hell, unless that is how they believe they believe they are saved initially, by works. Many people preach saved by grace kept saved by works, if a person believes this I believe this scripture says the Grace of God has little or no manifestation in you current walk in this life. Gal 5:4. Any comments? Love Tim |
