Subject: Does a person who never hears about Jesu |
Bible Note: Dear Angel, You wrote, "that person meets someone who tells him/her about Jesus... and that person realizes that his/her life up to that moment has been in compliance with Jesus' Gospel" With all due respect, such a thing could never be. We know that all men sin (Rom 3:23, 1 John 1:8, 10). Further, we know that any who have sinned are a slave of sin (John 8:34). Anyone who sins will die twice (Pro 10:16, Rom 6:23). No one can be saved outside of Jesus Christ (Act 4:12; 16:31, etc.). They that do not obey the gospel are doomed (2 Thes 1:18, 1 Peter 4:17). They cannot obey the gospel unless they hear it (Romans 10:14). Only through salvation of God by Jesus Christ is a man able to say no to sin (Rom 8:8-9)! Hence, your hypothetical believer who has never heard of Christ is an impossibility... an oxymoron... a contradiction in terms. Finally, Paul speaks directly to this point where he writes: For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel. (Romans 2:12-16) Every man will be judged, and every man who has not responded to the gospel call with saving faith will perish. All of which shows the holiness and justice of a good and righteous God. Please read again the quote in my post 151940. In Him, Doc |
