NASB | Romans 2:13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 2:13 For it is not those who merely hear the Law [as it is read aloud] who are just or righteous before God, but it is those who [actually] obey the Law who will be justified [pronounced free of the guilt of sin and declared acceptable to Him]. |
Bible Question: what does it mean doers of the Law? Does one just have to do the law to be justified. This is probably impossible nowadays. Does this mean doers are saved or does this is for ones who live before Christ? |
Bible Answer: Greetings, I an unable to answer in great detail, at this time, however I suggest that you read Romans 3 and I believe it will give you the answer you are looking for...Also, read Romans 7, 2Cor 3, Gal 2 and 3, 1Tim 1:9, and Hebrews 7 and 8, if you are so inclined... The Lord is leading me to say this though: Only He (Jesus) who fulfilled the law can obey the law through our/your crucified soul. The purpose of the law is to reveal who we really are (totally depraved and evil to the core) so that we will receive Christ, who will then begin the transformation process and the obeying of the law and the living of the Word, again, through your/our crucified soul(s)... Have a good night, I will try to respond in more detail in next few days, If time permits and the Lord leads... |
