Bible Answer: Hi, Wilmap... This was a very serious issue for Christians at that time. However, if you know your American history well enough, you will find that King George III actually abandoned the colonies -- officially and formally -- before the revolt was declared (see the Declaration of Independence). Parliament, however, disagreed, since they had money invested in the colonies.
