Subject: What does "being a homosexual" mean? |
Bible Note: Maryt s1979. I have been told I am as old as dirt. Yes, I have recall of all the people you mentioned. I used the example of President Clinton because you mentioned oral sex. Which President Clinton did not consider as sexual to the point of considering it adultery. He attempted to cloud the issue with mind and word games. That was my point. I find it interesting that all these people were caught, and denied the facts at first. Only after being confronted in a public setting did the emotional plea for forgiveness come. All the women involved were shamed, and used by these men who were content to continue living in sin until they were caught. I think of the families that were torn appart, the children who suffered the shame of their fathers sin. With Jimmy Swaggart he went under a watch care type of situation, that was to be over a lengthy period. However, his Ministry was financially tumbling down and Swaggert shortened his watch care and returned to ministry. The name of Swaggert ministries and Bible School barely hangs on. In general any leader in ministry is exposed to many temptations. Many who spend a lot of time away from their wife or husband take serious steps to protect themselves to prevent even the sligest hint of infidelity. They even have protectors of the same gender stay with them and have others to be accountable to. To shame ones self and family is bad, but to add that to the name of Jesus Christ is so much more offensive. I have no judgement on those you listed who fell, but they all reaped what they sowed. I think there is a important lession for us all. Any thoughts? justem |
