Subject: Is Salvation only through Jesus Christ? |
Bible Note: Greetings, Johnny. I was specifically referring to the present day--i.e., the time after the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. My question asked "Can salvation be attained...?" That means "is it now possible to be saved any other way than through Jesus Christ?" I agree that God is sovereign, but the Bible tells us that God cannot lie. (See Titus 1:2.) Therefore, it is reasonable to expect that He will not operate in a manner that is incompatible with what has been written in His Word. 'And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned."' [Mark 16:15-16 NASB] 'And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them, "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able."' [Luke 13:23-24 NASB] "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it." [Matt. 7:13-14 NASB] "For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER?" [1 Pet. 4:17-18 NASB] Kind regards, Tim D. Cormier Tennessee Preacher |
