Bible Question (short): Fellowship with God or man? |
Question (full): Is "fellowhip" in this verse indicating fellowship with the Lord, or with other believers? If with other believers, what does one do when other believers do not seem to want to fellowship with you? My husband and I felt led back to the Lord after many years away from the church. We repented and now are in fellowship with the Lord. We then thought that we should be in fellowship with other believers, so we started looking for a church. We found one where the people seemed to welcome us, but after two weeks we realized that there was a war going on in the church, and their welcome was actually one group trying to gain more people than the other group. We have attended services at 4 other churches in our area, and felt about as welcome as a rattlesnake in a schoolyard. My husband has cancer, and life is very difficult for us right now. It's even worse when fellow believers do not show Christ's love. If we cannot fellowship because we are not wanted, is this counted against us by God? If this is the case, then although I was raised a Baptist, I may have to fellowship with the LDS, as they have actually come to my house, offered their love and help, and would welcome us to their fellowship in a heartbeat. |
