AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 17:31 because He has set a day when He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness by a Man whom He has appointed and destined for that task, and He has provided credible proof to everyone by raising Him from the dead." [Ps 9:8; 96:13; 98:9] |
Bible Question: in Acts 17:31....who or what man is this talking about?.....it say's he will be resurrected! And what is the fixed day? This writing or scripture was was written after jesus had already been raised from the dead...by Luke...was Luke talking about jesus? |
Bible Answer: Greetings JMScott! The man being discussed by Paul is Jesus. The verse doesn't say that he will be raised, it says that He has been raised. The fixed day is literally 'He has determined a day'. Thus, it refers to the day of judgement which God has ordained. The resurrection of Christ is the proof of this coming judgement. I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
