Bible Question: What is Luke's role and why does he travel with Paul only partially and not all the time in Acts? |
Bible Answer: Hi Nic, Well, I guess your study group leader pawned you off on us, because he didn't know the answer either. :-) The Bible doesn't really say; there may be some historical writings that could give some light, but since the Bible doesn't say, it may just be speculation, I don't really know. Let me offer this however, It would seem that Luke was a disciple of Christ, just as Paul was, and perhaps they just shared in the work of getting out the Word, equally. As to why he moved away from working with Paul, can, I'm sure, be attributed to the leading of the Holy Spirit for him to work in other areas. I pray this helps John |
