Bible Note: Hi Mommapbs, Your Scriptures are good ones in learning to know the (t)Truth. John 14:6 and John 8:32 I have found to be a perfect match in my mind. John 8:32, "and you shall know the *Truth, and the *Truth shall set you free." John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, "I am the *Way, and the *Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." 1) I don't think that I would say that Jesus is the Truth in Himself alone. For instance, 1 John 5:7 says that the Spirit is the truth. So I would say that the great "I am" is in the three Persons, "the Way, the Truth, and the Life". 2) I think it very important to know (Him). After John 8 talks of knowing the Truth, John 9:5 talks about Him being the (Light) of the world. And in verse 41 tells us that if we are no longer blind to the truth, then we are able to be free from our sins for we have seen Him. The blind man worshiped Him because He recognized Him as God. John 10:37, NASB, "Jesus said to him, "You have both seen (Him), and He is the one (One, NKJ) who is talking to you." 38 And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshiped Him." I go with the NKJ for the verse because Jesus is the One who is worthy of worship as He talked with them in the world. 3) John 8:12, NASB, 1995, says, "Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." 13 So the Pharisees said to Him, "*You are testifying about *Yourself [the Way and the Truth]; Your testimony is not true." A question for you, Mommapbs, "What are your thoughts of this verse with a different capitalization?" Here is my interpretation for what it is worth: I am the (Light) of world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of Life." From the heart, Ray |
