Bible Answer: Dear Ray, One of the oldest copies of the Greek Bible that survives is the Codex Vaticanus. I'd like you to look at the following web page: http://www.bible-researcher.com/codex-b.html It is written on vellum, each page in four columns. (Several scribes took part in the writing, and the text has had some revisions by a number of correctors.) There is no punctuation (not even spaces), there is no versification, and there is no capitalization. Imposing punctuation and capitalization is a matter for translators. There is extensive scholarly discussion about how this ought to be done. It is not something that can be done by someone unversed in the original languages, and it certainly is not a matter on which doctrine ought to be based. Doing so will have the results you are experiencing: conflict with ordoxy, doctrinal error, and overall confusion. In Him, Doc |
