Subject: What is Mormon relation w/Jesus? |
Bible Note: Well, experience is a great teacher, but God has sovereignly placed you in this situation for a reason, Norrie. Be joyful that He has done so! I can point you to some good places for resources. One is Watchman Fellowship (www.watchman.org). Another excellent one is the Utah Lighthouse Ministry (www.utlm.org). Two good books on the subject are _Mormonism 101_ by Bill McKeever and Eric Johnson, and _The Gospel According to Joseph Smith_ by Ethan Harris. Both are available or can be ordered from all the usual Christian book sources. Above all, remember to be in prayer for Rick, as it is God who opens the eyes of unbelievers to the truth of the REAL gospel. Many Mormons are clearly presented with the undeniable truth and absolutely ignore it. Others, like James White of Watchman Fellowship, turn and embrace the Christ of the Bible. I will join in prayer both for you and for him as you reveal God's truth to him and become equipped to glorify Him among those who worship a false version of Him. And lastly, don't think you have to open up both barrels on him at once. Cult evangelism can be a very drawn-out, relational ministry. How exciting for you! --Joe! |
