Subject: What does the word"believe"involve |
Bible Note: DD So, to believe means to have faith "conjoined with obedience to Christ." So, one is saved from the wrath of God by having faith conjoined with obedience to Christ. How is this believing different from salvation by good works? Rom 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Eph 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Acts 16:30 and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Acts 16:31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." |
