Subject: When were disciples born again? |
Bible Note: Hi Kalos, Act 10:44-46 Peter went to Cornelius's house, the Holy Ghost fell (44) the gift of the Holy Ghost was poured out(45)...how did they know he had been poured out??? (46) For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Peter then acknowledged "Can ANY MAN forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have RECEIVED the HOLY GHOST, as well as we?" What happened when Peter received the HOly Ghost? Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." If it had been the same tongue as what they were speaking to teach, there would have been no difference, they would not be able to tell if God had supernaturally done anything.Acts 11:15 And the Holy Ghost fell on them , AS ON US AT THE BEGINNING....it was the same experience they had had with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Acts 2:4 which is the blueprint of the church, because God never changes, his word never changes, his purpose never changes... Mal 3:6 I am the Lord I change not...Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the SAME yesterday, today, and forever...Who being the brightness of (God's) glory, and the express image of (God's) person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he (Jesus)(The express or exact image of God the Father)had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty (God the Father) on high: Mt 4:4 Man shall live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God Matt 24:35 Jesus said,Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. That's unchangable! I don't find scriptue where it is written that the Holy Spirit "always" falls on entire groups. Paul as the example was filled with the HOly Ghost as at the beginning because he said, "I thank God, I speak with tongues more than you all." He had to speak a lot if it was more than all of them put together. It had to be God, or Paul would not have exercised himself in the gift. He did write approx. two thirds of the New Testament, so he must have known something about the subject and the experience. He was by himself at the house of Ananias when he was filled with the Holy Ghost by Jesus the Baptizer in the HOly Ghost, there was no group or crowd, and was mightly used of God. Although it is not mentioned specifically in that portion of scripture, he did state, "I thank God I speak with tongues more than you all." So he must have been filled there, since the scales, fell off his eyes, and he caught on fire for God. It is called being baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire. Acts 2:1-4, Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water UNTO REPENTANCE; but he (Jesus) that comes after me is mightier than I,....he (Jesus) shall baptize you with the HOly Ghost AND with FIRE. Whether they were expecting anything or not, is not the issue, what God did in manifestation of other tongues is the issue, as Peter said, "as on us at the beginning". Always in Christ, C.S.M. |
