Bible Question: Dear Forum: In John 18:38 Pilate asked Jesus, "What is truth?" On this forum we have many different and opposing points of view on critical issues, yet each of these views is being offered as the truth. One says baptism is necessary for salvaton; another says no, not so, faith alone is sufficient. One says man has free will; another says no, he does not. One says the believer has eternal security; another says no, you can lose your salvation unless you do good works. The list of opposing viewpoints is virtually endless. Can two points of view both be true when they say opposite things? So, Forum, what IS truth and how do we find it and recognize it when we see it? --Hank |
Bible Answer: Hank, that is a very good question. The simple answer to that question is God's Word is thruth. Many people have different views on these critical issues and they point out a verse here and there to support their views. Guess what Hank they are right and they are telling the truth. To answer your second question "Can two points of view both be true when they say opposite things?" The simple answer is yes. WHAT???? some of you are scratching your heads trying to figure out what I'm saying. The Bible has verses to support the different views people have, yet the Bible does not contradict itself. You problably think I'm insane now. Suppose there was one simple answer to solve all these critical issues, guess what, there is. There is one verse in the bible that solves all these different views. Before I give you this verse I need to give you some background. I will do this on my next posting, Id like for others to join in on this conversation first. --Orlando |
