Bible Question: Dear Forum: In John 18:38 Pilate asked Jesus, "What is truth?" On this forum we have many different and opposing points of view on critical issues, yet each of these views is being offered as the truth. One says baptism is necessary for salvaton; another says no, not so, faith alone is sufficient. One says man has free will; another says no, he does not. One says the believer has eternal security; another says no, you can lose your salvation unless you do good works. The list of opposing viewpoints is virtually endless. Can two points of view both be true when they say opposite things? So, Forum, what IS truth and how do we find it and recognize it when we see it? --Hank |
Bible Answer: Ephesians:2:8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: All of God's Word is TRUTH, and because God's thoughts are beyond the relm of worldly wisdom, I submit that truth seekers need to focus on what God's agenda must be. What is one thing that will satisfy everything that God has done? If Heaven is the answer as well as the Goal, then are the suicide pawns receiving rewards? I quess what I am saying is if you are looking for a simple answer it is JESUS the bringer of understanding to the simple. Or maybe truth is onemindedness. Wow-every jot and tiddle accounted for. |
