AMPLIFIED 2015 | John 1:14 ¶ And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception). Bible Note: Greetings Norrie! You said, "I've heard it explained that you are a spirit, you have a soul (mind, will and emotions) and you live in a body." This is almost what I am saying, except I would reverse the roles of soul and spirit. I would say you are a soul, you have a spirit, and you live in a body. One thing that is important to remember though is that the body is not a throw away part. Scripture makes it clear that at the resurrection, we will all have our bodies and spirits reunited. In fact, those Christians who go in the Rapture will have their spirits and bodies reunited even before the resurrection. The importance of this is simply that our eternal destiny (Heaven or Hell) will not be experienced as some sort of ghost like existence, rather we will have perfect bodies. Thanks for the response!
