Subject: Two beginnings? |
Bible Note: Greetings chemprof - Yes, I agree, God can create as He pleases. But I think it is interesting that man has "discovered" what we can know from God's Word. God tells us that He is Light - a form of energy Where did the Light come from? God IS - He had no genesis. Energy can not be created. It always was. Would Creation involve the expenditure of energy? God created out of nothing, but did it require power, or energy? If this energy originates or is from God, and God is eternal, would not this Divine energy also be infinite in nature? Hence, energy can be changed but not destroyed. Now, I'm not trying to spark some kind of "New Age" philosophy, but I am trying to put together an explanation to enccourage an understanding of the infinite nature of our spirit. This "life" is not all there is, yes we do go on into eternity. Perhaps this might heighten the level of concern for some "science minded" folk because where we spend our eternal destiny must be decided in the temporal flesh. Indeed we will all be changed, some will rise to newness of life and others will rise to eternal separation from God. As believers, we are new creations. Energy was involved in this process as well. The power that raised Christ is the very same power (energy) that regenerates us. ("Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power." 1 Cor 6:14 ) Lastly, IF energy cannot be destroyed, and if God's energy is part of the "created" universe, how do we understand the end of time and the "beginning" of eternity? For me, the answer may be in our understanding of "black holes," where not even light escapes. Could this be similar to the Bible's description of the eternal repository for God's unregenerated creation? Does this sound like the "outer darkness" that Jesus warns about?(Mt 25:30) Thanks for considering my questions and thoughts! Blessings, mommapbs PS: How about telling the Forum a bit about yourself?
