Bible Question (short): Freedom from what? |
Question (full): Is this passage referring primarily to freedom from personal sin and Satan's grasp? Jesus takes great care for the complete well-being of the people he meets --- so that physical healing and forgiving are equated (Luke 5:23). Do we miss the significance of this text by "spiritualizing" terms like poverty, blindness, and oppressed, making them refer to personal sin and the Devil? |
