Bible Note: Reighnskye Let me add another point society tries to teach us bias and prejudice are nasty words. They are not! They are fact! If a child is bitten by a dog they have a bias or prejudice against dogs. This is natures way to prevent they from possibly getting hurt again. What they do with those bias or prejudice effects whether it bad or good. If they summarily shot all dogs on sight then I would say it was wrong. If however they learn about dogs and how to approach them understanding canine body language etc., I would then say that bias or prejudice actually enhanced them. If I was a victim of a pickpocket I would have a natural normal bias about pickpockets. If however had noticed my pickpocket was left handed and I developed a bias or prejudice against lefthanded people as possible pickpockets it would be wrong. My initial bias or judgement about pickpockets was natures why to keep me from suffering consequences of having my pocket picked. My generalization and resulting bias or prejudice that all left handed people are pick pockets is wrong. Don't let society modify your words for you. They have made words like bias, prejudice, fundemental intolerance and others as negative words when in fact they can be very positive words. They all suggests a standard and when we make God's standard our standard then these words take on a very positive aspect. EdB |
