Subject: What is the "reward" ? |
Bible Note: Greetings Rowdy - see Rev 7:9; 14. In a post on John 16:33 RC.Scroll writes: "When we come into a relationship with God we will suffer persecution,we will suffer for his namesake,we will be afflicted, in one form or another. Our Lord JESUS is saying that no matter what have no worries or fear for I have overcome the world. We can rest and be assured that God has evrything under control, and if he is in you and you in him, then fear not for we shall overcome by what he has already done," The "pre-trib" message is that Jesus is coming and He's going to "get us out of here" before the events of the last days leading up to the second coming begin to take place. In light of John 16:33, is this reasonable? (Especially in light of the severe persecution of believers in non-western parts of the world.) Is there a difference between tribulation and the great tribulation? (except perhaps that the persecution that characterizes the great tribulation is described in detail?) Personally, I subscribe to a pre-wrath rapture of the church. If the "pre-wrath" rapture of the church is borne out, believers in the West will suffer greatly in the time ahead - I wonder how many will "stand firm?" How many young people who have grown up with the "pre-trib" message will be taken by surprise or even disillusioned? Blessings, mommapbs |
