Subject: Blasphemy against Holy Spirit |
Bible Note: From Brett. Our Delphi forums are easier to get around on. :) Norrie, I jumped onto that other forum last night late. I don't like it...hard to navigate and post. John 10 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. Again I agree with Hank on John 10:27-29 above, but he is missing the point. Yes, no man can pluck you away from Christ. However, you can pluck yourself away, by "falling away" on your own. Once you do this, you can NEVER seek repentance again. To do so would mock Jesus. You may seek repentance, but he will rebuke and not forgive you......UNFORGIVABLE SIN....case closed. Notice Jesus says he will give eternal life IF the sheep that hear his voice do what??? FOLLOW HIM. If you fall away and the Holy Ghost leaves you, you are NOT following him anymore....again, the UNFORGIVABLE SIN!!! See Hebrews 6:4-6, Luke 8:12-14. It is apparent based on doctrine that you MUST follow Jesus after accepting him. If you don't, the Holy Spirit may leave you. Why would he leave unless He was blasphemed? Once He does leave, the unforgivable sin has occurred. It is "impossible" to reverse this as we see below: Hebrews 6 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. I hope this better explains it.....You can post this on the other forum if you think it has merit. I wonder what Judah's thoughts on this are!
