Bible Answer: Hi, zoe... The narratives of scripture are literal narratives. The poems of scripture are literal poetry. The prophecies of scripture are literal prophecies. The didactic writings of scripture are literal teachings. How else do we read anything? The literal interpretation merely takes the intent of the author into account as the document is interpreted.
