Bible Note: Dear lightedsteps, It is good to hear that we have a single and similar vision concerning our efforts to honor our Lord in what we say and do. Since becoming a Christian, I have discovered that life is so much less complex when that is our sole and open agenda (Acts 26:26b). Thank you for helping me be certain about your exegesis of those verses. More on that in a post to follow this one. I actually consider myself catholic too. Only I use a little c. :-) The Jewish thing is virtually of no importance. I continue to spend a lot of time in studying theology, but had I done so prior to my redemption, I think it would have been pretty much a waste of time (Philippians 3:8). Some things are similar on the surface, but that is solely by virtue of the Scripture itself. One of my professors used to say, "Even a blind hog can run across an acorn now and then." :-) Thank you for clarifying your theological starting point. I had guessed, although I was still narrowing the list down to at least two other possibilities. Communication is so much easier when we understand our fundamental presuppositions. By the way, I took no affront. I was simply disappointed that I do such a poor job of communicating. I guess I should be used to it by now. On the other hand, I should not be overly disappointed, but take it as stimulus to improve. Please, yes, send me an email. I am always happy to receive email from my forum friends (readers or participants)... so feel free to drop a line or ten. :-) In Him, Doc |
