NASB | Mark 16:1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might come and anoint Him. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Mark 16:1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome purchased [sweet-smelling] spices, so that they might go and anoint Him. [Matt 28:1-8; Luke 24:1-10; John 20:1-8] |
Bible Question: Could anyone give a few solid reasons why they think both women would have even left with spices to anoint Jesus' body (Mark 16:1) if they had no way into the tomb to attempt such a deed? |
Bible Answer: Maybe they didn't know the tomb was sealed with a big boulder. I don't think that was the norm. The Religous leaders told them to seal the tomb so "the diciples couldn't steal Jesus body away and then say he was raised from the dead." The women probably didn't know that. (I have nothing against Jews incase any Jews are reading this, and might get offended.) NWord |
