Bible Question: Does God force His will on us ? |
Bible Answer: I say no God does not force His will on us. I do believe that God being God can accomplish His will for us, for the church and for the world without imposing His will on individuals. In the passage you cite I believe the better translation is Immediately the [Holy] Spirit compelled Him out into the wilderness. I believe Jesus is very sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit thus He yielded to Him. We as Christians need to learn to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is only when we learn to yield to Holy Spirit that God can and will accomplish all He desires through us. |
