Bible Note: Believing (our faith in God)that God is, is not the obedience that results in a right relationship with our Lord. Abraham "believed God" and it was credited to him as righteousness (Romans 4:3). We need to believe God as Abraham did. Abraham believe the what God told him would be so, believed in His promises and that is the condition that brings about righteousness. I am forgiven because of Christ's blood sacrifice. Not because of obedience. If it was by my obedience that I was forgiven of all my sins then I would have reason to boast. God wants all the credit. Our job is to surrender our lives to Him, believe and let Him live through us (Galatians 2:20). |
