Bible Question: Many people consider themselves Christians for believing in Jesus and God, and believe themselves to be born again for accepting Jesus as their savior. Of this people many do not strive to follow the word of god. Do you believe these people will be in heaven simply for accepting Jesus as their savior. |
Bible Answer: I'm sure there are many opinions about your question. We will know the answer when we get there. In the mean time we must make a personal decision to become disciples of Jesus not merely followers. After reading the following verses, it became my desire to never hear these words from Jesus. The Holy Bible, American Standard Version Matt. 7:21 through Matt. 7:23 (ASV) 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. My life became a quest for improving the relationship with Him. I wanted to know him more intimately that I know my wife. This is how it should be with all believers. I don't have a religion. I have a relationship. I do not strive to follow the word, I allow the word to wash me, to renew me, and the power of God within me to guide me and I find I am living the word of God. |
