Bible Note: CaitlinM. I agree with your excellent explanation the Gospels’ writing of Jesus’ “depression”, and I appreciate it. Thank you. Too many are too often afraid to allow Jesus’ humanity to come through. They would rather hope Jesus couldn't express strictly human emotions, like Epiphanius Anchort’s leaving out Luke 19:41 because he concluded Jesus weeping degraded His Godly character. Jesus most assuredly demonstrated His human emotions, yet remained without sin. (Something I've failed to accomplish, sad to say.) For sure, His cleansing of the temple with a whip wasn’t by using the “friendliest” of terms. I can almost picture His frightening continence. His tone of voice surely got everyone's attention.
